ABOUT US
Founded in 1949, our program is built on the philosophy that children should be provided with a wide variety of opportunities for their social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. The curriculum is based on both individual and group needs, interests and abilities. Community Nursery School follows the principles of child-centered constructivist approach to early childhood education. Children learn as they explore and learn from others. The children are provided with materials and equipment, time and space, and appropriate teacher guidance. The methods, procedures, and practices reflect an understanding of child growth and development. We are a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and a member of Community Child Care Solutions (CCCS).
The program at Community Nursery School includes:
Opportunities for social development through association with others of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, races, religions and capabilities.
