Despite some snowfall mid week, the children had a great and busy week at school! We continued to celebrate Dr Seuss’ birthday and all things rhyming with books like “One Fish, Two Fish”, “The Foot Book” and “Put Me in The Zoo”.
We started our mini study on balls and spheres, which will continue all month! The children brainstormed all the things they know about balls, including different ways they are used, sports that use balls, and also made lists of the things we want to learn about balls!
The children spent time exploring different sports balls, and played rolling and bouncing games inside, and played catch and soccer outside!
This week the children also worked on letter and name recognition in small group, finding and comparing the letters in their names to name cards, and then putting the letters in the proper order to create inch worms with their names.
We didn’t let the snow outside stop us from having some “winter fun” on Friday when the children “ice skated” indoors using wax paper on the carpet! The children had so much fun and some even learned to do spins!
