This week in Kids Cooking Enrichment we made Macaroni and Cheese. The chefs grated the cheese, measured the ingredients and mixed them. They patiently took turns mixing the cheese sauce and then adding the pasta. Almost every single one of them gave the Macaroni and Cheese a thumbs up. A few wanted seconds! Easy Stove Top Macaroni & Cheese Recipe
16 ounces elbow macaroni 2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or 8 oz cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt 1 dash black pepper
Cook macaroni according to package directions. In medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, stir in flour and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add salt and pepper and slowly add milk, stirring well after each addition. Cook and stir until bubbly.
Stir in cheese a small amount at a time until fully melted. Drain macaroni. Add to cheese sauce and stir to coat.
