Rhyming with Dr. Seuss!

In Reading Enrichment we focused on identifying the beginning sounds of words. The students identified the letters and their sounds and linked the letter sound to the pictures from the story.  The goal was to identify the LETTER, the SOUND and the PICTURE that begins with the sound.  Students matched up ending parts of the words that make up a rhyme such as:

box   –   fox              train   –   rain                 ham   –   sam

We read “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss and we also went on a letter hunt around our classroom. We had fun learning!
