Pre k 3B has been exploring all things winter. We kicked it off with our clothing study. Some fun activities during this study included Measuring ourselves using mittens, graphing what type of clothing we wear in the winter and an entire Pete the Cat themed day where we decorated a shirt with buttons and cut it out ourselves using scissors. We even had a special Pete the cat themed snack that looked like his groovy shirt! We all counted out our buttons for Pete’s shirt (m&m’s) and celebrated. Yum! Our very own Mrs. Ryan shared her sewing talents with us and taught us how clothing is made. She even brought in some of her special dolls she made and we played and shared them with our friends.
This week we have been studying hibernation. We sorted hibernating animals and read several books about them. We pretended to be sleeping bears, and we went on a bear hunt in our classroom! We also made several projects around this theme and have a few more in the upcoming week.
We had several school wide fun programs which included a visit by Mr Ray the children’s musician. The children really enjoyed singing and dancing together.
We have been working hard learning our Alphabet and name recognition through fun circle time games together. The children have really been having a lot of fun while also learning these important skills!
