In Kids Cooking Enrichment we made French Toast and Fruit Salad. We practiced and learned how to crack eggs. We mixed the eggs and dipped the bread so that the french toast can be cooked. We also cut up bananas and apples. Most of the class really enjoyed the french toast with syrup and fruit…and asked for more! We also talked about how adding lemon juice to the apples keeps them from browning because it is full of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and it has a low (acidic) ph level.
