We had a very busy week! We painted together, sorted the colors of Fall leaves, explored textures while decorating acorns, and of course we played together!

The children learned about their community this week! They reviewed their addresses and built houses for a neighborhood. They created pictures for the kind of occupation they want to have when they grow up and also learned the important ways firefighters and police officers help us. This week we did some exciting STEM-based learning by using paints and watching them mix as we blew through straws. We also learned about Mrs. M and her neighborhood.
The children learned about hygiene and safety in the kitchen during the Afternoon Enrichment Kids Cooking class. We made edible paint with sweetened condensed milk and food coloring. The children then painted their toast. It was a very hands-on project and the children did an amazing job!
Our Young Learner’s spent the week learning about colors through games, painting and reading My Many Colored Days. We also enjoyed playing outside and with our new classmates!

The children in the 5 Day Pre-K had an exciting week meeting the first letter person, Mrs.A. She brought apples with her and the children not only learned new things about apples and how they grow but they also sorted, counted, tasted and graphed apples. The children all agree this week was Awesome and Amazing!
This week the children celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day and all things apples! They created apple trees, and counted and sorted apples by color. We introduced our first Letter of the Week: the letter /Aa/. We also made lots of time for fun and laughter both indoors and outside!
