PreK- 3A Has Been Having Fun With Many Fall Activities!

For the past two weeks the pre-K-3 children have been very busy learning new letters, working on forming letters,  and doing lots of fall crafts! Last week the children used their fine motor skills to practice tracing their names! They also created process artwork with fall themed art supplies, including feathers, fall colored tissue paper, Pom pom balls and precut turkeys, leaves and owls.

We Enjoyed Doing Many Fall Projects Together!

It’s Autumn! We’ve enjoyed the cooler days outside noticing the changes in weather and in the leaves. We examined pine cones as we explored the side playground. In the classroom, the Young Learners worked on fall projects using paint, paper and clay. We love playing together outside on the playground!

We Learned About Lots of Wonderful Things in Afternoon Enrichment!

Literacy Enrichment This week in Literacy Enrichment the children learned about position words by creating a “Where Is The Turkey” book.  They really enjoyed placing the turkey in different positions. Hooray for Halloween in the Young Learners Class

Last week we talked a lot about pumpkins and even cut one open to see what’s inside! The children took turns scooping out the flesh and counting the seeds. We read books and sang songs about Halloween including “Horray for Halloween”. We also had our Halloween party and played Halloween games. WE HAD A SUPER WEEK IN AFTERNOON ENRICHMENT!

COOKING ENRICHMENT: The young chefs had a great time slicing and cutting to create their very own pizza mummy.  Next, they made “ghost” vanilla milkshakes.  We found that most of them liked everything except for the olives (used as the mummy eyes).  They had a great time and  a lot of fun! LITERACY ENRICHMENT: In Literacy Enrichment we talked about rhymes and ending sounds.

PreK 3A had a great week celebrating Halloween and all things Pumpkins!

The children carved and explored the inside of a pumpkin, using the five senses to learn about the inside and outside of the pumpkin.    We made our own pumpkins and used fine motor skills to make pumpkin bracelets.  We enjoyed a huge Halloween feast on Tuesday and Wednesday!  Thank you to everyone who donated food and supplies for our parties!! Pp is for Pumpkin!

PreK 3B has learned all about pumpkins these last two weeks in October! We have been exploring the letter Pp and the sound it makes, and have made several Pumpkin projects! We Had An Exciting Week of Afternoon Enrichment Classes!

We had so much fun learning together in the Afternoon Enrichment classes this week. In STEM we built pendulums with pvc pipes and strings.
