We enjoyed retelling and sequencing the poem “The Five Little Apples.”. The children noticed the order of the animals going from smallest to largest. They retold the story by acting it out with felt animals using a felt board. It was a fun afternoon! We were also busy building letters with Kinects toys.
We had a great time making pancakes and sausage. The children learned about cooking safety and hygiene. They also learned how to set the table and we talked about table manners. We also cleaned up together. We read “Pancakes, Pancakes” by Eric Carle and talked about the steps to making pancakes and how important it is to eat a good breakfast.

The children made monoprints by painting on plastic surfaces, drawing designs in the paint with cotton swabs and placing the paper over the paint. We discussed the prefix “mono” and its meaning. We also mentioned that each piece was unique or a one of a kind.
We had a fun filled week of Fall activities, play-dough, hula hoops and more. The children enjoyed playing and learning together.
We had a very busy week! We painted together, sorted the colors of Fall leaves, explored textures while decorating acorns, and of course we played together!

We had a wonderful time in Afternoon Enrichment this week! We did some exciting Reading, Art and Science Activities. We made some delicious Apple Roll-ups with ice cream in Kids Cooking class and played a fun game in Stay & Play class that the children helped design. In Science we made slime and compared it to playdough. It was a fun week!
The children learned about their community this week! They reviewed their addresses and built houses for a neighborhood. They created pictures for the kind of occupation they want to have when they grow up and also learned the important ways firefighters and police officers help us. This week we did some exciting STEM-based learning by using paints and watching them mix as we blew through straws. We also learned about Mrs. M and her neighborhood.
