Reading Enrichment was all about rhyming and beginning sounds today!

In Reading Enrichment we played a Guess and Check Game practicing our beginning sounds.  We worked in pairs to describe pictures with the other child’s beginning sound card.  The teacher checked everyone’s beginning sound pictures and asked each child to name their beginning letter sound.  We also played a “Cookies and Milk” beginning sound rhyming game using the letters C and M.  We also read

We painted beautiful poinsettias in Art today.

Today in Art Enrichment we painted festive poinsettias using petal shaped sponges and then added some sparkle.  They came out lovely!

In Science this afternoon we had fun doing an experiment.

We did a fun experiment today in Science Afternoon Enrichment class.  We learned that vinegar is an acid.  It reacts with the salt to remove something called copper oxide, which was making the pennies dull.  We also did experiment with a lemon/salt  and an orange juice/salt solution. The lemon solution also cleaned and the orange juice did too but not as well. We had fun at Tumble Time and making holiday projects this week!

Having fun and strengthening our gross motor skills on a dreary, wet morning! We enjoyed exploring our new indoor space!  We also had a great time making festive decorations together! Our Monday/Wednesday class made festive decorations for our classroom using paint, glitter and marbles!

We had a spectacular week with Mr. D, Decorating and Designing. We did a fun science project and so much more!

The children in the five day Pre-K class were DEFINITELY surprised to DISCOVER Mr D hiding DOWN low!  He brought many DECORATIONS for the children to make to prepare for the upcoming holidays in DECEMBER.  The children also read two stories about gingerbread children and created a Venn diagram to compare the two stories.  The children also made a graph to find out what

We had a great week learning about animals and the letter”H”. We also started decorating for the upcoming holidays and had fun at our Tumble Time class!

This week the children continued to learn about hibernation and nocturnal animals.  Our letter of the week was “H” and on Friday the children made hedgehogs while practicing fine motor scissor cutting. It was a super week meeting Ms. S and talking about the seasons!

This week we met Ms. Ss Super Socks and we practiced letter formation by tracing S in Shaving cream. We also discussed clothes we wear in each of the 4 seasons, sorting through socks and finding pairs.  We read the story, ” The Mitten” and used scissors to cut out mittens size ordering them from smallest to biggest. We also took silly sock pictures.

Today We made Apple Crisp and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade! Yum!

We had a busy time in Cooking Class today.  We first sliced apples for the Apple Crisp. Next we measured and mixed the ingredients together. We all took turns. While it was baking we hand squeezed lemons to make lemonade and we all loved it. After the Apple Crisp was ready we ate it.  It was delicious!!! We had a great afternoon! \  

We had a great week with Ms. L and learning about the seasons. We also made the decorations for our tree !

This week we met Ms. L longest laugh and we located her on the land of the letter people map. We discovered things she loves like different lengths (long and short), laughing, looking at library books, and looking for her other letter friends. In Science Enrichment we built bridges strong enough and stable enough to hold 21 elephants!  We used upside down cups and cardboard strips.  We found that paper towel tubes weren’t stable and small cardboard tubes were not strong enough.  We needed to support the middle of the cardboard or it sagged.  Popsicle sticks were too narrow.  We discussed what it means to be stable
